Boys Soccer

High school boys soccer is a team sport played with 11 players per side, focusing on passing, shooting, defending, and teamwork. Teams compete in matches against other schools throughout the season. All students in grades 7-12 are welcome, regardless of experience level.  

Participation & Practice

Practices are held after school throughout the week. Prior to school starting, practice times vary. Game schedules vary each week and often include Saturday games.  Interested students should connect with Head Coach Tim Wareham (twareham@isd717.org) and complete the necessary participation forms.

• Team Information
  All students in grades 7-12 are welcome to try out for Boys Soccer, regardless of experience level. The season commences August 17, 2026. We will form a Varsity and Junior Varsity team. If we have sufficient numbers, we will also form a third team (C Squad) for more inexperienced players. Please note that if we do not have enough players for three teams, it is possible that we may not be able to place some 7th or 8th grade players on a team this season.

  Pre-Season Captains Practices
  - Current dates for Captains practices are: July 10, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 29, 31

  - All sessions run from 6:30-8:00 PM on the Grass Soccer Field south of the stadium and baseball field

  - All players entering 7th grade or higher this coming Fall 2026 and who plan to play high school soccer are welcome to attend.
  - These practices are led by the 2026 captains. Coaches are not involved.
  - There will be an adult in attendance in case of emergencies.
